No One Likes Superman Anymore

No One Likes Superman Anymore is the fifth track on the original release and current versions of I Fight Dragons' debut EP Cool Is Just A Number, though it briefly moved to track six for the Atlantic Records re-release. The track started out as the first single from lead singer Brian Mazzaferri's original band Red Line District, before being rerecorded for IFD after his departure from RLD. It is the earliest written song to appear in IFD's release catalog thusfar, and is the only IFD song to have ever been shared by multiple bands. The last known recording of the band playing the track live is from 2012, and has not been played since.

Differences Between Red Line District Version and IFD Version
Aside from a lack of chiptune and certain harmonies, both versions are nearly identical in structure and arrangement. Brian's vocals are slightly more reserved on the IFD version of the track, as the band didn't want the harder sound of RLD. All elements of the song were rerecorded for the EP, and the original RLD version of the song has since been removed from all major music distribution outlets.

No One Likes Superman Anymore (LSDJ Version)_
This is an 8-bit version of the song created by Brian using the Little Sound DJ GameBoy cartridge. It was uploaded to YouTube on February 6, 2009, the the same day that Cool Is Just A Number was released. It was later released through the mailing list as part of IFD Amnesty2

Lyrics
Strong hands, strong mind
Strong all the time
Straightforward and kind
To simply define

'Cause no one wants to know
The man who stands for things we outgrow
He's too noble and too blind
We're all older now
And we don't need someone to care about
The innocence we left behind

Don't touch that dial
It's just that goodness is out of style

Be dark, be cold
(So conflicted)
No hand to hold
(Heart constricted)
Dark knight, bright soul
(We're addicted)
No room here for the bold

No one wants to know
The man who stands for things we outgrow
He's too noble and too blind
We're all older now
And we don't need someone to care about
The innocence we left behind

And what if he can fly?
Hey, well so can I:
Jet Blue or United Airlines

And who cares if he's strong?
All we see's the wrong we've done
Reflected in his eyes

'Cause no one wants to know
The man who stands for things we outgrow
He's to noble and too blind
We're all older now
And we don't need someone to care about
The innocence we left behind
